Heavy rains in Camaná, Arequipa, caused the activation of the San Martín ravine, resulting in a huayco (landslide) that severely affected the town of Secocha and other localities.
The huayco that hit Secocha was one of the deadliest disasters in recent years, according to INDECI’s supplemental report.
In this context, and as part of its Humanitarian Aid Program, Fundación Wiese, in partnership with ADRA Perú, joined efforts to address the needs of the affected individuals.
Who were the beneficiaries of this humanitarian aid?
Due to the landslides, access roads were seriously damaged, making it difficult to reach the affected areas.
Given this scenario, Fundación Wiese, together with ADRA Perú, donated food kits to 200 families to cover their food needs for 5 days.
What’s in each food kit?
Each kit contains enough food for a family for 5 days.
At Fundación Wiese, we reaffirm our commitment to serve the most vulnerable communities in times of emergency and disaster.
