Lima, March 17, 2025. On March 6, a devastating fire consumed 27 homes in the Nadine Heredia human settlement, leaving over 100 people homeless. In response to this emergency, the Wiese Foundation, in partnership with ADRA Peru, has mobilized efforts to meet the urgent food needs of the affected families and provide school supplies to help children of school age.
About the Tragedy
The fire, which occurred at 7:30 AM, spread rapidly due to the flammability of the materials used to construct the homes, primarily wood and plywood. Despite the prompt intervention of firefighters and neighbors, access conditions made it difficult to control the fire.

Intervention of Fundación Wiese and ADRA Perú
Food Kits
As part of the humanitarian aid plan, the Wiese Foundation, together with its strategic partner ADRA Peru, delivered dry, non-perishable food kits to 30 families, each designed to cover the needs of four people for a 7-day period. The contents of each kit include essential products for the nutrition and sustenance of the affected families.
School Supplies Kit
Additionally, school supplies kits were delivered to 30 children, with the goal of providing them with the necessary resources to continue their education despite the difficult situation their families are facing.
From Fundación Wiese , we reaffirm our work and commitment to assist the most vulnerable communities in times of emergency and disaster.
Other Aid Interventions
The Barrios Altos fire, which occurred on March 3, 2025, in an illegal warehouse in the Cercado de Lima, represented a major emergency. Due to the presence of flammable materials and the precarious condition of nearby buildings, the fire spread rapidly, requiring the mobilization of over 50 units from the General Volunteer Firefighters Corps of Peru and days of hard work to control it.
In response to this crisis, on March 7, we supported the brave team of firefighters who battled the blaze by donating eye drops, an essential product to improve their visibility amid the thick smoke. We also facilitated the generous contribution from Gloria, who donated juices and milk to support the frontline responders.
From the Wiese Foundation, we reiterate our deep gratitude to the firefighters for their commitment and sacrifice in protecting our country.
